About:

Improv Fever is an improv school based in Israel, with an LA-style—which mainly translates to a strong focus on “game,” or what’s funny about a scene.

But wait… what’s improv? It’s people making funny stuff up in real time based on an audience suggestion. And despite sets being completely unplanned, there are techniques to help you deliver more funny and engaging sets every time.

Improv is all about being in the moment and letting go of perfection. The beauty of improv is in those unexpected twists and turns that happen in real time and in the group effort of making this magic come to life.

So come discover the magic of improv yourself by taking a class or workshop or seeing one of our shows! Can’t wait to see you there!

  • This class will teach you the foundations of longform premise improv, meaning we will be using openings to generate ideas, all based on an audience suggestion. You will learn and become comfortable using the following techniques: yes and-ing, monologue openings, initiations, base realities, unusual offers, justifications, labels, game moves, backline support, tags, edits, space work, character choices, emotional choices, and much more, to get you to have more funny and engaging scenes! Improvement will come through repetition and experience, so we will have you on your feet a lot. The class size is limited to 12 people to ensure everyone gets ample play-time.

    Requirements:
    None.

    Upcoming Courses:
    Oct. 29, Ra’anana

    Starting Date - Oct. 29(FREE)
    7 Classes - Every Wednesday, Oct. 29-Dec. 10 @ 17:30-19:30
    1 Show - Dec. 11 @ 19:00-20:00

  • Okay, so you have a handle on premise! Woo! Now let’s move on to organic improv! The main difference with organic improv is you have to find a game once the scene starts, rather than starting a scene with a game idea that you got from the opening—there is no opening in organic! So this course will cover how to spot the unusual, label and agree on the game, embrace imperfection and roll with the punches, and how to perform a successful slacker! A slacker is a form with no edits—only tags!

As always, improvement will come through repetition and experience, so we will have you on your feet a lot and not get too bogged down in lectures or notes. The class size is limited to 12 people to ensure everyone gets ample play-time.

    Requirements:
An intro to long-form improv training.

    Upcoming Sessions:
    No upcoming sessions.

  • This class with focus on The Harold, a popular form that has a premise, 3 beats, and group games! We will learn how to do a living room opening, 1st beats, 2nd beats, 3rd beats, group games, and also Hopscotch Harolds (mini Harolds that only have a 1st and 2nd beat).

As always, improvement will come through repetition and experience, so we will have you on your feet a lot and not get too bogged down in lectures or notes. The class size is limited to 12 people to ensure everyone gets ample play-time.

I studied and performed improv in Los Angeles for the past few years and am grateful to have had a wide array of incredible teachers and coaches, as well as wonderful teammates and fellow improvisers who have impacted my understanding and approach to the art of improv. My wish is to pass on this knowledge and give you the tools to own the stage with confidence, as well as to provide a place to have FUN, connect with others, and build a very special community.

— Your Coach,
Danielle Ben-Shimon
